Creative Workspaces: Thinking Outside the Cube

Last Friday was my last day at my corporate job. It was a creative position, but my environment was anything but. Despite views of the Bay, windows were blocked by roller shades to avoid computer glare (by those lucky enough to score a window seat). Fluorescent lighting instead replaced any natural light. Tiny grey cubicles, grey carpeting, and grey concrete floors completed the monotone, uninspiring décor.
